BIOGRAPHY

 

Lily Ferreira Erdozain is an Argentine visual artist who was born in Buenos Aires in 1956. She currently resides in the coastal city of Pinamar, where she has set up her home and studio. There, she produces her artwork and teaches Drawing and Painting.


As to her academic background, she obtained her National Painting Teacher degree from the Prilidiano Pueyrredón National School of Fine Arts in 1985, and her National Drawing Teacher degree from the Manuel Belgrano School of Fine Arts in 1981.


She has worked as an art teacher both at colleges and secondary schools. She also has broad experience in the textile industry –she has been a clothing and textile designer for over 25 years.


Her expertise in weaving and product development, and her vast knowledge of Latin American cultures, mainly those from Peru (where she worked from 2008 to 2013) and Brazil (where she resided from 1990 to 1992) have had a strong impact on her artistic style, enriching her creations with both tools and ideas.


Her work has been shown in several Argentine art galleries, including Hoy en el Arte, Lirolay, and Adriana Budich in Buenos Aires, Puro Arte in Santa Fe, and Hasta la Raíz in the coastal town of Cariló. She has also had her work exhibited in other cultural venues, including ICANA (Argentine - American Cultural Institute), and the Bank of Boston.
